DISTURBED'S COVER OF "SOUND OF SILENCE", IS BRILLIANT, BUT A FEW YRS AGO, A BAND CALLED " THE AWAKENING" , FROM JOHANNESBURG, COVERED IT. SEEING THEY WERE A GOTH BAND, YOU CAN SEARCH IT ON YOUTUBE. ASHTON KNIGHT, VOCALIST, AND I WERE AT SCHOOL TOGETHER.

ANOTHER GREAT COVER, IS A BAND CALLED " TOUCH OF CLASS". THEY TOOK A CLASSIC, AND GOT ME NOSTALGIC. "THE STORY" , AS SUNG BY THESE TWO, IS ALMOST BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL

The Disturbed rendition of the Sound of Silence is probably better than the original,

And while maybe not the greatest I do like this one ,

How's about "The House of the Rising Sun" by the Animals? That was a cover of a traditional song at the time and is all but unknown in the USA to this day

Michael Jackson's cover of 'come together' is brilliant.
His cover (as a child) if ain't no sunshine also very good.
Finally, Cristina Aguilar's cover of James Browns 'Mans world' also spectacular. Shows her ability.

I don't suppose there are many other Nightwish fans on the forum but all do yourself a favour and try Floor Janson's version of Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort.

She has possibly the best female singing voice ever and I thought that no one would ever top Whitney!

Go on have a listen and find out why they call it a Floorgasm

Love this thread. There's some really quality stuff been posted.

How's about this. I honestly believe this the best (and also probably the most unlikely...) cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman you'll ever hear:-

All hail, fat middle-aged men!
