Well. It is a Computer question, of sorts!
Background.
We have the Sky standard package with a Sky+ (non-HD) decoder. The missus then bought a, to me, Mega sized 49" T.V., complete with quite a nice wooden cabinet on which it sits.
It also came with a Sky+ HD decoder. All were a purchase from the 'Estate' of a relative who passed away. The T.V. comes with a USB output to record onto a Flash Drive.
First problem. The decoder has a Scart outlet whereas the T.V. has an HDMI inputs. I purchased a Scart to HDMI converter (£20+). That part sorted.
The next problem is that she has aeons of recorded programmes on the Sky+ decoder. "You can't change that. I've got programmes I need to watch!" Wimmin!
In essence, I need to 'wean' her off using only the Sky+ decoder to record programmes and 'educate' her to record from the T.V. - at least until the memory on the Sky+ decoder is at zero and I can get the account changed to the Sky+ HD decoder.
Hence the need for a suitable USB Flash Drive. Would a SanDisc 128GB USB 3.0 be suitable and what sort of recording time would it hold? It is not that either of us are of an age where HD would benefit the 'viewing experience'.
I suppose an alternative would be to install the Sky+ HD decoder and then just connect the existing Sky+ decoder (to HDMI3) merely as a 'Play back' device, until she has exhausted her viewing 'Library'. Although, if that went wrong, I'd not be very popular. Is that feasible?
Ultimately, I'll probably remove the Hard Drive from the Sky+ decoder, mount it in a housing, and connect that to the USB output from the T.V. as a reformatted recording device.
Essentially, opinions are sought on the choice of a suitable USB Flash Drive. The Model of T.V. is LG 49UJ 630v
Thanks

It's about 1-2Gb per hour for Standard definition and 4-6Gb per hour for HD.
A 128Gb drive should therefore do 60-70 hours of standard def and about 24-30 hours of HD.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I know Computers and I know Engineering, but matters such as these are not within my knowledge of understanding.

Only asking, can you record from your TV to the flash drive? Ours we can watch from the flash drive, but don't think we can record to it. (Not seen an option in the menu)
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

What I've seen of the manual - online - and from the screen where it has shown something like, "Cannot Record - No USB Device connected" then I'm sure it can. I also read (again now can't find it) that they suggested a maximum of 32GB Flash Drive. However, that was probably in the days of USB 2.0Someone-Else wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 10:07 pm Only asking, can you record from your TV to the flash drive? I'm not going to need the hours kindly supplied above so will probably go for a 64GB 3.0 with a read/write rate of 100mb/sec
I think the 'Record' option is a function on the Remote. I'd have to look at it again to be sure.
Another point that I noticed, is that anything recorded to a Flash Drive from an LG set, cannot then be viewed an another device/computer. It seems that LG have their own system of Coding. However, along with many other statements on the 'net, such may be obsolete information.

Update.
I purchased the SanDisc 64GB 3.0 with a read/write rate of 100mb/sec and it works. (£10 from Argos - Click & Collect).
If you have that, then you should be able to Record.
I think I've just about managed to set a program to record from the LIST menu.
Still learning!

To clarify, after pressing the House button on the remote, which brings up numerous flags along the bottom of the screeen, right > across and look for one that is labelled Recorder.Someone-Else wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 10:07 pm Only asking, can you record from your TV to the flash drive?
