That looks poor quality to me, if you was fitting that for a customer they wouldn't be pleased, where did they come from?

Every time I order conti board for shelves they always have chips.

Likewise they are in poor condition, as a customer I would not be happy receiving those.

With that amount of exposed / damaged chipboard it will soak up any spilt liquid like a sponge and blow out, you'll be buying another new kitchen in a few years if that.

I think I know who your quality checker was

Think of it as you've just bought a new car, the dealership drops it off with dents in the doors, scratches in the paintwork and a crack in the window screen. Would you be happy to accept your brand new car in that condition?

That looks poor quality to me, too - but, one tends to get what one has paid for, I suspect.

If from a known brand, definitely worth complaining - good manufacturers have a reputation to maintain and will replace without quibble. Though looks like you might be needing some luck in that regard.

Yes poor quality and pretty bad overall. That base unit, how would you fit a worktop?!

I sent an email asking the supplier to collect and refund but haven't heard yet, early days. I spoke to my credit card, they said I shouldn't have a problem and they will come in if needed.

And as for the manufacturer, I am tight lipped atm and no it wasn't cheap at all. But unfortunately I went for it because of a couple of strong recommendations from a forum, and from this forum! Disappointed.

Almost all carcasses are like that, I am not bothered to check doors and panels, still in the packaging, not opening them. Why would I be needing luck? I asked supplier to collect and refund, credit card said that's what has to be done.

Have you got a pic of the expected unit with the door finish, I have ordered my kitchen from an online company which I've read excellent reviews about also. What finish/door style did you go for? Thanks

the biggest problem you have is not so much you have a chips missing or a gaps that are both mostly unacceptable it more importantly means its not sealed so an easy path for damp and wet to delaminate the joint then structure

I was expecting clean cuts no chips no stains on carcases or doors. Worktop won't fit flat on one of the base units. One unit has standard hinge when all units ordered with soft close. 80% of the units have problems.

Where did you order from?

I fitted DIY stuff 2 ½ years ago no issues like these , also recently installed some more in kitchen to go around American style fridge , again no problems other than they didn’t do a top box that worked for me. It was Luca handle less in Farrow and ball blackened , with oval room blue trims. No knocks , Knics or Chips any where on delivery , I caused a couple of minor ones but they supplied touch up paint.

Several aspects in the the pictures cause me to suspect it's not from DIYK.

They sent driver today, all items returned.
I had to wait for 2 months for delivery, luckily I have a kitchenette to use.
So tired of this, I have to start looking again, any strong recommendations?
On serious note, I will have a look at Wren and Ikea and even B&Q...

i did a diyk earlier this year/ late last year. nowt like this.

i did do a kitchen from a local place which was a bit of a pain in the arse. the film on the gloss panels was a nightmare full of scratches that didnt go through to the actual final surface..... but did make the peeling off a nightmare, it was also full of scuffs etc. hopfully that was a one off though.
