Knock on door today, guy said for homes which can't have gas there was a scheme to insulate house for free funded by Welsh goverment if you were getting some goverment assistance which I do, then free loft insulation could be installed.
It seems also possible to get cavity wall insulation and Nest thermostat.
The latter seems wrong!
Gas boilers often have OpenTherm and Nest is an Opentherm thermostat, but he said they were targeting non gas properties, so why Nest?

in general its the means tested benefits that attract free or subsidized insulation or similar
so ones you get automatically like pension or child benefit dont count
but things like working tax credits or means tested add ons to state pension do tend to count
