Windscreens

Post by Hitch »

Just booked in to have a new windscreen put in my van (berlingo) a reasonable chunk of glass. Had a few quotes. Best one suprised me, coming out at £105 all in fitted at work aswell :thumbright:

A localish company, substantially cheaper than the big national companies.

Had a tyre put on yesterday aswell, £31 fitted, plus a complete valve replacement on another one and rebalance...

Seems like the small companies are doing better prices than the big nationals that advertise how cheap they are.

I have a bad crack in my windscreen, but it is on the passenger side. I phoned the insurance and they would replace it if I paid the excess of £50 I asked if it would shatter or go worse and they said no and so I just left it

Pointless getting it replaced as another stone on the motorway could crack it again.

There is that, but its suprising how much strength a windscreen gives to some vehicles, as much as 25% or more iirc.

The crack i have is in the passenger side, but it seems to be a creeper.
