Its really difficult!

I'd be tempted to skim over with plaster..

you may get a better answer tho!

if it is ready mixed stuff use a wallpaper steamer it will come off with a scraper

if the ashesive is cement based the steamer wont work

I believe there's no way to prevent that some of the tiles will take some plaster with them while pulling them.

You most likely will have to skim it afterwards for a better finish.

Aldi did similar not long ago for £15...........they are great for getting old muck off walls :wink:
