Hi there
I have an oil leak on the right hand side of the engine (Insignia) as the enclosed pics show, seems to be coming the housing under the red clip in the 2nd image. I would be grateful for any comments/suggestions.

Your photos are too close to get an idea. Invariably oil leaks occur on seals and I suspect this is the rocker cover gasket. They tend to be a caulk type seal these days and can split over time allowing oil to get out.

hi mate, thanks for replying. i enclose a wider image of the engine and have ringed the area where the leak is coming from. i don't think it is the rocker cover gasket, that seems bone dry. its coming from a part attached to the side of the engine, beneath the hoses which are visible on top, within the ring I drew on. I also enclose a schematic drawing, and have ringed the area where the leak is coming from.
