Hi everyone, I am multi trade, bathrooms, kitchens, bricklaying etc. Plus plastering. But because I don't do it that much and don't know any other plasterer, I'm not sure what the going rate is. What do you charge per room, example, a 12 x 12 perhaps with a chimney breast. Also, with and without the ceiling. Even just one wall. I know everyone lives in different areas but I am just after an average. Thanks for your help and advice in advance

How long is a piece of string? If you don't do it that much, how good (expert) is your workmanship? Do you have dozens of satisfied clients to recommend you to others? How much do you want to earn per day (and how many days will it take you) to cover the cost of your training, qualifications, liability insurance, leasing & signwrighting your posh new van? Accountancy, income tax, national insurance?

Phone a few plasterers and get a rough quote for the job. Don't make them incur costs coming to view the job though.

Prices vary in just the area I live, so you need to be much more specific about your location to get any useful responses IMHO

arco_iris has hit the nail on the head.
It doesn't matter what Mr Nine charges, as he lives 357 miles from you, where as Mr Fourteen lives 25 miles from you, but knows he is slower, so he charges less. It does not matter where you are in the country, it also does not matter what the trade is, what does matter is how much do you need to make, and your quality of work, and do people feel comfortable with you. You can charge more (at what ever your trade) IF the quality of workmanship/materials is very good.

oh, a piece of string is twice as long from the middle to the end.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Prices vary where I live as well, but some of that can be down to (as suggested above) - are they any good, are they insured/trained (you should know about that, Neelix), are they operating officially/grey economy/charge VAT, do they arrive in a tatty old Zafira or a new Transit (with personalised reg.) etc., etc., can they start tomorrow or is there a six month lead time......

Now where's that bit of string......
