need advice on a long hosepipe (like 40/50m) and sprinklers

Post by funkyDIY »

Hi

I've got a large garden(around 450m2) lawn that is desperate for some water. I recently moved into the house and have an older hosepipe (like 10years but its fairly short for what I need).
The thing is I don't think the water that comes out of it is a particular stronger force (it might just be me). I would like to get something like a 40m hozelock auto reel (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hozelock-Auto- ... _1_13?th=1) but I'm nervous that it might not work for what I'm looking for or perhaps I need something else to help boost it. I'm also looking for a sprinkler but do not know which one I should get or what I should be looking out for.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Have you measured to the furthest point, will 40m reach? (From where the reel will be mounted)

Sprinkler? Depends what you want to water. You can get the oscillating ones that have a fine spray, but reach a long way (Ideal for watering a large lawn) or you can get one that has multiple options and you turn it to which you want, or you can get the "spray it outwards" one.
No matter which you get you will have to move it so it covers everywhere eventually.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Just thought I should point out that funkyDIY asked the question almost 6 months ago, so has probably sorted it by now, also funkyDIY has never been back after that day. :-)

Yes, I was well aware of that but thought to give my opinion anyway.
