I need a Drill Press and I need it to be able to drill holes through 10cm thick posts. I have been looking at some and they say that they only drill about 6cm. I am probably over thinking this but am looking at the wolfcraft Drill Stand I 3406000 but am still not sure if it will do the job.
Any advice would be appreciated.

When drilling do it in stages starting with a small bit to act as an accurate pilot hole. I usually drill a drill guide for the job using a section of wood that I drill accurately on centre. This is clamped (or temporarily screwed) in position and then careful drilling should see an accurate hole. To be fair the deviance in a 4" thickness should be minimal taking care. It is all about accurate measurement and taking your time.

The lever feed movement only allows 60mm depth in one cut; you could drill a small pilot hole then continue with a hand drill to reach the other side, then open to full diameter and then reverse wood to drill through from other side using pilot hole guide, a lot of faffing about.

Drill the 60mm depth, place a 30-50mm piece of scrap underneath continue drilling the hole - quick and dirty, but it gets the job done
