Broken Myson MPRT
Hello,
Went to replace the batteries on the hard-wired Myson MPRT downstairs and tried to fit it back in. Not sure exactly how it slots in, I’ve watched videos where it looks fairly easy but mine is a bit fidgety. Long story short I’ve snapped off one of the two metal prongs in doing so.
How screwed am I?
Plan on phoning Myson in the morning for advice/guidance, but thought I’d check in here what my options might be.
This type of thing is completely alien to me.

Have you broken one of the four pins (two sets of two) that protrude out of the top cover circuit board, if so pretty much need a replacement unit.

Yeah that’s exactly it. Only for like it’s only two pins at the top, and I’ve broken one of those. My unit doesn’t have two pins on the bottom.
Called Myson who suggested to try Wolseley. Seems like they don’t stock my unit and that it may have been discontinued as I can’t find it online.
Is this going to require a whole new system?

Isn't the myson unit a standalone stat that transmits to a reciever connected to the boiler ??

That’s everyone. Called Myson, apparently plenty still available but just now something that tends to be stocked by merchants. Have to be ordered in, so all sorted. Fingers crossed I can fit this one properly when I get it!

Daftwizz,
asking questions of posts you did not start (Hi-jacking) is not a good idea on any forum, not only is it bad etiquette, the question was asked over 15 months ago, and as is often the case, the Original Poster no longer posts (He only stayed for 4 days) so he will never read your hi-jacked post or answer it.
Best to start your own thread.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
