What is the best to way to address these ceiling cracks?

I've been in contact with plasterers about skimming the walls in my kitchen.

There are also cracks in my ceiling and have asked what should be done about them.

One suggested taping the cracks and then skimming them, another suggested making the cracks bigger and then filling them in.

I've attached photos of the cracks below.

What would you say is the better suggestion based on the photos?
