Hi, I'm about to re paint the front of my house which has the old paint pealing off in places. I can't rake it all off its just loose in patches. If I paint straight over it the patches will stand out. Is there any type if plaster I can use to fill the patches bearing in mind that it would be a very thin coat ?

If there was, (I don't know) what would said plaster/cement etc adhere to? What I am saying is, if you "stick" something to something else that is already lose, how long before it falls off?

Teh usual remedy is to use a stabilising solution as a primer, you need to use a water-based masonry paint over it. Have a look https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Masonry ... L/p/214145 and read up on stabilising solutions to get an idea of it will work for you.
