Damp in front room

Hi, I wondered if someone could advise on likely cause of the damp in my front room? It’s an old Victorian house and the damp seems to be rising from the bottom. I’ve cleaned out/unblocked the air bricks to that wall but it doesn’t seem to be getting better (in fact it’s getting worse). When I bought the house 4 years ago the surveyor said that maybe the outside levels were too high but the damp has really only come in the last year after we had the internal floor replaced. Do you think it’s likely outside levels or some other problem? Could a new floor = less ventilation and that be the problem? I don't know where to start!

In Victorian houses, the damp course was made of slate. If a slate gets a small crack then it will draw damp from the foundations and cause an issue like you have. The remedy is usually to inject a chemical damp course in the area so seal the breach.
