Hi all,
I would like to build a lean-to (open on three sides, so its more like a canopy really), however there is a gas boiler flue outlet on the wall which will be about 200mm below the roof of the lean-to? There is a door which is 300mm away from the outlet of the flue. The flue would be on edge of the lean-to (the lean-to would start just to the right of the blue gate in the image). Would I need to extend the flue away from the lean-to, or is there enough space for the setup as it is currently? I tried reviewing as many regulation references as I could, but I'm still not sure.
I would appreciate any input from the community.
Thanks.

Gas boiler Flue and Lean-To Roof
I am not an expert on this, but my guess is that you would need a flue extension to extend out from under the canopy. The logic is that flue gases may gather under the canopy and not dissipate and might creep into the house through adjacent doors and windows. You have to get this right to ensure it conforms to building regulations should you come to sell.
