Cost of Renewing Loft Insulation.
Not sure if this is the correct forum but:-
As I am no longer able to get up into our loft due to back problems plus I have been told that there are signs of damp and the insulation is very old, house being some 20 years old I have today received a quote for new Loft Insulation as follows:
Loft Floor Measurement = 35 sq mtrs. Propert Semi Detached.
Remove and dispose of existing 300mm deep fibre glass.
Give a full mould treatment.
Install 'knauf' earth wool 44.
Ensure vents are clear and insulate areas that were previosly empty.
Re-install boarded area approx 3 sq mtrs on risers.
Company has a Trust Pilot review of 4.6.
Price quoted is £3300.00 is this a reasonable price for the work?
Thanks for any replies.

Get another quote and compare, then you will know. But do get like for like, not like with similar. Anything else is just a guess.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

To me, it sounds expensive. I would get two more quotes. Search Yell.com for insulation firms in your area. Read reviews and the websites linked. You will soon see a pattern of the chancers and established tradesmen.

Seem steep to me 6-7 rolls @ £30 each = £200 ish - flooring being generous £300, £60 for mold treatment
the rest is labour and removal

Cost of Renewing Loft Insulation.
disposal of the old stuff also. i often underprice this. or the bloke will give a price based on photos and then say oh theres a bit more than i thought itll be more money....
presumably truses, access to all areas of the loft? is there a whacking geet big tank right in the way as is often the case? 2 blokes or a bloke and a youngun?
ive gotta pay the young kid who works for me £8.60 per hour minimum. hes just turned 18. even stuff like that racks up canny quickly when your having to show them and explain stuff a lot of the time.
id bet this job is a lot more difficult to complete than it might seem
