Vaillant ecoTEC 824 - simplest 30kW replacement?

Post by Jeepers »

Hi all.

Situation is that a 13-year old Vaillant ecoTEC plus 824 needs replacing. It's in a kitchen wall unit, so the replacement needs to be as straight-forward as possible, but ideally more powerful than the current 24kW DHW.

The ecoTEC plus 831 sounds ideal, as it should be physically the same, but is it still available? Alternatively, there's the pro 28 or 30 - do they have similar piping & flue layout?

Thanks.

Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Thanks you both.

I'll check that out, dwd (nice to see you from SF days :-) )

Cheers, someone-else - I tried Google, but it only came up with second-hand units. I tried the Vaillant website - what a pile of poo - and it didn't give individual models, just 'find an installer'.

Thanks - I'll try and track down a new 831 :-)

I thought I recognised your name :thumbright: I was on Screwfix for a few years and then went to Trusted Tradesman which no longer exists, just as well really it would not sit well in these times  Further to your question I am sure that Vaillant kept the cases the same dimensions for this very reason.
