Fixing hob to worktop

Post by DavidLondon123 »

the hob i bought appears to require a lip for fixings to clip into the worktop. the hole for my hob is cut into
the kitchen worktop so there is no lip. how do most kitchen fitters deal with this. yes i suppose i could use silicone but often it is not recommended. should i buy a hob designed for this ?

The clips normally tighten against the underside of the worktop.

A picture of your exact issue may help as your description doesn't help

Fixing hob to worktop

recently i fitted a kitchen that had 20mm or so laminate tops. the supplied hob was an induction hob and conveniently it was different to the norm with those things and was only suited to thicker worktops. the clips were zero use whatsoever no matter how they might have been fitted. the same with the sink. utter waste of time.
