Wireless stat to rapid 32

Post by Kevtr »

I have just moved into a house that has a fairly new Intergas rapid 32 installed, it looks to me that it has never had a thermostat installed so perviously must have been controlled by the boiler panel. I am wanting to instal a salus wireless stat but the boiler terminals seem different than others I have installed these on.

Would anybody please be able to advise me if Using four core and earth would I put the live and neutral in with the existing live and neutral (2 & 4) or into 1 & 3 on the X 2 side?

Then would I be right in thinking the remaining two should go into 6 & 7 on the X 4 side after removing the link?

I think you need to consult a GSR

I would use 5 core heat resistant flex for the job, not 4 core and earth. The 6-7 is the volt free stat connection, confirmed by the link which is removed. Constant live and neutral, 2 and 4 as you have said.

Thanks for the reply, if it was gas side I absolutely would, just thought I’d ask for advice on here as I’m in no real hurry to get it working

Thanks for the reply, that is what i thought but the last image I uploaded seemed to suggest 1 & 3 for switch live and constant

The RT510TX is only the thermostat. You need the RT510RF for thermostat and receiver. According to the Salus website, this product is volt free so you would use 6-7 for the thermostat bit and 2-4 to power the receiver. Don't forget to connect the earth in the five core. As it relies on a wireless signal, I wouldn't position the receiver too close to the boiler.

Thanks for taking the time to look. The receiver that come with it is RXRT510, there is actually no earth terminal on the receiver so I assume I would just connect earth wire boiler side then terminate it inside the receiver. Instructions suggest installing it at least 1 meter from boiler so yes I’ve got plenty of space to do this.

Yes, terminate the earth safely in the receiver.
