I’ve painted over 2 long parts of my bathroom ceiling with zinsser BIN and covered it with a couple coats of paint but anytime the shower has been used the two painted over areas become very dark and very easily visible - can anybody help on what todo to solve this ?
Appreciate all and any advice
Thanks

ZINSSER BIN showing through on bathroom ceiling

Just guessing here but I suspect that this is due to moisture absorption. The areas with no BIN under will dissipate the moisture more evenly but the paint over the BIN coated area will be thinner and absorb more. This will give a visual darker area that dries out and becomes even again. Some form of sealer coat may help.

I was thinking to paint over it with BIN 123 as that’s a water based primer and might help ?dewaltdisney wrote: ↑Sun Mar 23, 2025 8:58 am Just guessing here but I suspect that this is due to moisture absorption. That may do the job, I would reiterate that it is only an educated guess on my part. See how it goes and let us know the result, it may help others in the future.
