Hi Skinnyy21,
Welcome to the forum from honeymonster!
I have always wondered how laminate flooring was made, I don't suppose you could tell us how it is made?

hi hm,laminate flooring is basically 3 sheets of paper and a 7 or 8 mm mdf board.the bottom paper is always brown and is used only to stop the board from bowing up when the resins dry out.the decor paper is patterned to look like wood panels or tiles as you know we then put a top layer of paper on which is like toilet paper and is loaded with resins and hardeners and soaked in aluminum oxide.its all sandwhiched together and run through a very hot press(about 210 degrees)for approx 14 secs it then goes to be stacked and has to be stored for 14 days before it goes to the cutting machine where its cut to the panels you buy in the shops. :D

You forgot to mention the steel reinforcement used in laminate flooring. I've been putting some down today and AI can't believe how quickly it blunts jigsaw blades. I ended up doing the last few with a hand saw, and even that ended up blunt!!

I often wondered why some laminate flooring caused sparks when cutting with my mitre saw!
Now I know why!
