Honing guide for chisels etc

Post by Mooncat »

I've just acquired some bevel-edge chisels which need sharpening. Is there a gadget which I can use to hold them securely when on the oilstone? I've previously used square-edged chisels, but the Eclipse guide I've had for 45 years doesn't suit the new chisels.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

I use a Trend Fastrack! My other stones, guides and strops are redundant now. I don't think I'll ever go back!!!

i usually take mine to a sharpening shop. he puts em on his big grinder and they come back to me hollow ground. then i just put the edge back on em free hand off ma oil stone.

lad i work with has a trend fast track though. may have to invest in one of them
