Hi
I am looking to purchase a new compound mitre saw and really want any reccomendations as to which manufacturer and model to buy.
I currently have a cheapy one from wickes which is fine for rough cutting, but i need to cut skirting, trims and plastic. I would also like one that slides or one that has a bigger cutting bed. Which blade size is best to go for?
Will it be a choice of the top makes like bosch, dewalt and makita?
I do like bosch products and recently purchase GSB20-2RE drill which i am really impressed with.
Dewalt i think are over priced for what they are but thats my opinion, when you look at the motor specs etc compared to other brands.
I look forward to peoples reviews

ive got a dewalt dw701 and its fine for what i use it for. got variable speed etc. cost me £190
check ebay for prices.
lad i work with has iirc the dewalt dw712 saw which is bigger and has slightly lager capacity iirc plus it can cut trenches where my dw701 cant.
ive never used any other make of mitre saw so cant really comment
ohh i tell a lie. i did use a makita saw once but it didnt slide or anything. cost more than my dw701 aswell. didnt think much of it
