problem with rising damp
I had a problem with what appeared to be rising damp in my entrance hall. The entrance is on the side of my house and is quite small approx 1.25m x 2.5m and the door is approx 1.25m from the front wall of the house. The damp patch ran from the external corner of the hall toward the door and from the same corner toward the living room wall, and was confined to the hall only, on the living room side there was no trace of dampness. A specialist injected the wall at floor level on the inside from the door to the corner and from the corner to the living room wall and vertically up the front wall in the corner by the living room wall. He replasterd the walls up to approx 1m from the floor and fitted an airbrick between the door and front corner and two airbricks in the font of the house. The problem i now have is that there is still a very damp patch in the external corner of the hall not as large as originally there and extends about 0.5m along the front wall and the brickwork below the plaster which the skirting should be fixed to is very wet with beads of water running down the surface, this looks like condensation and is very bad.Can anyone tell me if this work has been properly done and if so how can i fit skirting to such a wet surface. the work was completed 4 weeks ago.
