good to see Harry Hill won something
Harry Hill's TV Burp won the award for the Best Comedy Entertainment Programme, for which Friday Night with Jonathan Ross had also been shortlisted.

there is only one way to find out ......

I'm afraid I must of lost my sense of humour some time back.
I used to find Dave Allen funny and a few others, but I could never laugh at Russel Brand as he is just NOT funny

Humour is subjective. If just one person finds a comedian funny, then by definition, that comedian is funny. If millions find him funny but you don't then he is still funny, just not to you.
The awards are not in doubt. They were given out so there is no ambiguity there. For that reason, I suspect the title of this thread should have the inverted commas around "comedy", not "awards" as the OP goes on to question the comedy and confirms that these were actually awards.
I've won a fair few comedy awards myself. Most of them were at school and were awarded by my classmates for attributes like "Funniest Face", "Goofiest Teeth", "Bounciest Head" etc. I chose to retire from the comedy circuit earlier this year as a protest against the resignation of Brand and the suspension of Ross. I wrote to both of them asking for some money to support me while I supported them morally but neither of them have returned my letters. emails, telephone calls or vocal threats from across the street.
So yeah, they aren't funny. Either of them.
