How do I prepare this wall for tiling

Hello chaps
I am struggling a bit here. As you can see (sort of) that I have built a partition wall and installed a thermostatic built in shower control.
I have used aquapanel in the shower area (picture 2) and moisture resistant plasterboard elsewhere but you can see from the pictures that I need to '"fill the gap" (picture 1) just behind the partition wall and build the wall out to be level with the vertical wood piece in picture 2
Another sheet of plaster board over the existing one will make it level with the partition wall (picture 2)
However I am not sure how to stop any movement at the edge where the new plaster board will join up with the timber.
i was thing of using those flat metal beadings, attaching it to teh wood and plaster board using a staple gun
any ideas?
Many Thanks to all
