tile grout

Post by lynne »

::b
Hi I have recently moved and in new house they have done bathroom which looks really good until you look close. The walls are tiled from floor to ceiling but there is grouting on the tiles, lots of it. Have tried cleaning with soft scourer, no joy!! Any ideas how I can remove without damaging?
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Lynne.

Hi Lynne,

You may be able to remove it with a plastic scourer and some hot soapy water, this could soften some grouts and make them easier to remove.

Failing that you could try an electric steamer and plastic scraper.

It's going to take lots of elbow grease I am afraid.

What type of tiles are they- natural stone/ceramic?

thanks for your answer. Sounds like hard work but I will give it a go. The tiles are ceramic but not smooth , have indent pattern. I hope you know what I mean, dont know what they are called.
