which one?

Post by panlid »

everytime im in my local tile suppliers i see behind the counter an array of floats and squeegies for grouting. now i normally use a float and have a couple of different ones for diferent colour of grouts. meaning that as a black grout does stain the float, i dont like to then use it for doing white.
anyway, i was wondering if anyone uses a rubber squeegy as i may have a go with one. i gould imagine it being good for doing large areas like floors?

any ideas?

Some of the larger ones are for flooring, and really are only any good if you have one person grouting and two washing. For very large areas.

You'll also find different compound rubber floats for different types of grout, epoxy for instance has a very dense textured float.

The squeegies are really only any good attached to a handle so you don't need to Kneel, the problem with that is it won't compact the grout in the same way so you need to slurry grout, which takes longer to dry is more difficult to get a finish on blah blah.

Only worth while for 100's of meters - basically commercial jobs where they have machines for washing anyhow.
