Towbar question

Post by Mooncat »

Has anyone fitted a towbar with detachable ballhitch, to a VW Shuttle. Best place to get one?
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

Have a look at the Witter website, or Towsure...
Towsure probably the cheaper of them two.

From memory, the transporter towbars are quite simple affairs, but a fair job to fit, lights out, bumper off, spare wheel off, cover off....wire into the lights while the bumper is off.
Most seem to do an electrical kit, all you need as well as instructions.

I've discovered that because the bumper is fitted with ultrasonic transducers for the reversing warning system, not all towbars will suit. So I'm checking with VW and the vehicle supplier.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.
