Sealing around bath

Post by Rishyrish »

Hi Guys,

I have recently tiles around bath, and have made the smallest gap I possibly can (meaning from tiles to bath).

However, I noticed that the timber supporting the bath is actually slanted as it goes along, meaning that it is fine and level on one side, then as it goes along it goes uphill and is more visble.

Can I plane or sand it down with an electric sander? And also the gap is approx 1 inch from tile to bath. I have bought homelex bath strip, so is silcone sealent good enough to fill this gap with then stick strip down? And should I do this with the bath full of water?

If not will regular silcone do for the smaller gaps?

You can plane it or sand it, but it will need removing from the wall to plane it and this will increase the gap all the way along.

Not sure about sticking the strip down with silicone, what does it say on the instructions? Silicone is pretty good at sticking things, just not sure in this application!

It's best to fill the bath with water before sealing/siliconing
