Installing a car stereo

Post by The Weegie »

I am trying to install new car stereo in the wifes car.

I have done everything right. However I am having problems witht the rubber cushion that you install into the back of the stereo. The instructions say that once installed you push the stereo into the dash board and it clicks in place.

Now I have pushed the stereo forceably into the dash board however the rubber bit is not fitting.

The car stereo is a senda purchased from Halfords.

Does anybody have any ideas please
It may seem difficult at first! But everything is difficult at first.

Throw the rubber bit away....

Some have a threaded stud in the back, some cars have a metal strap across the back of the opening which might stop it unless the stud is located properly?

Other thing, the cage it sits in, one of the locator tabs isnt stuck out funny is it?

Thanks for the reply Hitch.

I actually realised that the rubber bit was useless when I noticed it was miles away from the hole that it was meant to go into ::b

I then took out the old mounting collar and inserted the one that came with the stereo and it fits.

Then again I don't have a clue about cars

Thanks Hitch. :thumbright:
