Err... "a bit about myself";

I'm in Brighton atm. Into properties. I like to travel for 6 months of the year (Europe) and do what i want: surfing, snowboarding, copulatin', drinkin, eating, etc. and just basically living well and seeking out new directions.

I had arc eyes (3 times in 1 month) at the age of eight and social services were called in to grill the old folkies.

Since then i've been using the right googles and have done "my bird" in most of the retail, building, computer and car trades. I used to customise and race tune cars, as a tearabout, on the Queens highway 15 years ago. Oh what fool hardy days they were!

My current project is my van and i have just finished the gas hob / kitchen unit ready for this summer comming up. I'll try to post it up in the projects section later.

Well, thats me.

Hey~

Thanks for the welcome ultimatehandyman and this here fab site. What a great idea! You must put in alot of hard work to this as, i undersstand, you have work outside of this labour of love. Good on you chap!

As for the eyes... I remember being taken back to the hospital, 4 years later, after having showered my eyes with red hot swarf off an angle grinder. They stuck my head in a vice (head shaped) and scrapped the front of my eye balls with a special razor like blade to remove the metal filings that had embedded there. My eyes seem fine though and i'm pretty hot on safety gear these days. 8-)

If anyone else is even thinking of making do without safety gear let this be a warning! It's easy to see what i didn't do in hindsight (pardon the pun).

You were very lucky, I never take any chances with my eyes and always wear suitable protection

Never, too old, Gadget. Thanks for the greet.

As for eye protection I always insist on the very thickest Pilkington contact lenses.

I was in the backyard belt sanding a really rough and warped 2x3 on the tressle the other day. Then, later in the evening, my wife asked me if i knew why Billy, "her" blind dog, had no hair on its back again. That's the second time that 'kin' dog has ruined my jobs.
