Nice flue!

This is where you can post pictures of extremely poor workmanship, whether it is done by a dodgy tradesman or by an incompetent DIY'er. Instructions on how to post pictures can be found in here.

Post by Razor »

Powerflushing today when the lad looked over the fence and asked me if next doors flue was as it should be

Think I will notify Gas Safe and then forget all about it

oh, they trace the installer. That makes allot of sense.

I thought they were just going to make the guy get it fixed.

Gas safe will do bugger all I'm sure but they have an option for us to flag up installs like that. I will feel better having done my bit and it won't be down to me if anything goes pearshaped.

It's obviously been in for a few years in a perfect world they would have the right to gain access to inspect the appliance and disconnect.

Not sure about Gas safe, they tell us they have slung more people off the register this year than Corgi did in the last three but at the same time new registrations have shot up.

If you reported a dangerous installation, and gassafe/Hse did nothing, could they be done for corporate manslaughter, or even held responsible.

No they would blame the person that reported it, for not fixing it

Gas Safe would respond as follows:
- The bend in the flue pipe is quite accute
- The pipe is badly cracked & thus discharging POC
- Pipe is too close 2the window(s), again possible POC discharge

We are holding the person who reported this faulty installation responsible ''for not asking the occupants if they want him to rectify the ID situation? OH DEAR! :-P

Ok razor, only joking. I hope you gave the lad UR Tel. no. That way, once GS pays them a visit, they'll ring you to come & rectify
