The Lady M's Samsung laptop has developed a fault where some keys have to pressed harder than normal to get them to work. Is it possible to remove the keys individually as you can with a desktop keyboard, or is it a dismantle job?

You can remove the individual keys on most laptops as you can on a regular keyboard but, like on a regular keyboard it usually does not give you access to the 'switch' that the key operates as this is sealed under a sheet of rubber / plastic to protect the 'switch' from debris and spills so won't really help. I'm afraid you are probably looking at replacing the keyboard if you have already tried blowing / vacuming out any debris from between the keys and this has not helped.
Check on ebay for the cost of a replacement keyboard for your model there are loads of companies on there offering new and used laptop components.

You could probably remove the keyboard to clean it out - remove all the screws from the underside, plus also check under and facia plates under the screen (in case there's any extra screws under there - they've caught me out before!). If a good clean doesn't do the trick, then as mikew1972 says, spare parts are cheap and easy on ebay.

Most laptop keyboards are a 'sandwich' construction which, apart from allowing you to remove/replace keycaps, are virtually impossible to disassemble for cleaning or repair.

Replacement would be far less stressful.
