Now I know I can put downlighters in lathe and plaster, what are my options? I have a single lighting circuit, 3 core and earth, from the front door in the lounge to the bottom of the stairs. Mrs J wants something very modern in the lounge, I was thinking of maybe 3 downlighters over the fireplace, another 3 spaced wider across the centre of the room, and another 3 equispaced from centre to match the fireplace lights, all 3 arrays individually switched. What do you think, and bearing in mind my current (pardon the pun) wiring.
Id like to bring on all lights at the front door, and switch off all lights at the bottom of the stairs.
May be a tall order, but if you dont ask................

I was thinking of a 3G switch to control the 3 sets of downlighters and the 1G 2 way 3 core and earth existing circuit to power it up??? I am also thinking about a single picture light on the existing circuit to iluminate a hologram we have. If the picture light is off the downlighters wont work kinda thing, what do you reckon???

The three core and earth Jas- is it not the cable between a two way switching arrangement?
