Went to install the latest update and got the message.

Install failed, go to Adobe repair.

error 1500.

this is caused by an error in the registry, if you run a prog like Registry fix and repair any problem, Adobe update works.

Thanks for the pointer, John.

Out of interest:
Do you just use the Adobe Reader for opening PDF files?
Or do you have the paid version for Creating/Editing PDFs?

The free Foxit Reader is a good replacement for the basic Adobe Reader. It uses much less resources and does the same job.

Actually using Adobe 8 at the moment, but the error 1500 problem is with all the versions.

Yes, use it for opening PDF.

I've not had any update problems. I have 9.xx and the full paid for version with CS4 Design suite.

I use it for creating pdf's to send on to customers.

I tried the update once and got the 1500 error.

Then tried it again a couple of days later and it went through fine.
