I'm wondering if someone could give me a 'laying turf for dummies' guide !!
I am splitting my garden into 2, a 3rd is going to be decking and I will have an area of 49sqm for new turf.
The area I want to turf is slightly raised at the back and was once a mixture of bushes and patio, I spent the past couple of weeks removing the bushes and lifting all the patio.
What is my next course of action ?
The patio area has left behind a dry mixture of sand and sement that i was worried about laying the turf on ??
From what I can gather (reading other posts), my next moves are -
Hire a rotivator to break up the ground
Rake the area flat
Roll the area
Rake the area again
(not sure if I have to roll again or leave loose?)
Then I can lay my turf on top of this ??
I pressume it would be best to get the decking down once the garden is level and before I start laying turf ?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Chris.
