Blackpool Reach the Playoffs

Post by dave.m »

The Tangerines are in the Playoffs and face two games against Forrest.

Being a Yorky who has lived in Blackpool for 35 years, I am rather pleased for them and hope they get promoted, both for the experience and the cash.

They must thank two Yorky teams, Sheffield United for beating Swansea and Doncaster for holding Swansea to a draw, in the final two games of the season.

No, Foggy, I won't be going to Wembley. For over 25 years my 'local' just down the street from my house, was The Bloomfield, named after Blackpool's ground and also the road. During those 25 years, I had to be a Blackpool supporter of sorts, but we had a good crowd of supporters come in before and after the match, no matter what the result was.

The 2nd leg at Forest was a nail biter, right to the final whistle. Ironically, my local now that I live near Garstang was packed fuller than when the landlord has a MUFC (spit) match on TV. A lot of those in the pub are arch rivals of Blackpool, being Preston NE supporters, but they were cheering Pool along all the way.

The Latvian (I think that's where he is from) who owns the team has promised them a £5m bonus if they go up. So another little incentive to win.

I work in Newark which is 30 mins away from Nottingham and loads of Forest supporters there and it was fun winding them up the following morning

Been to the ground a few times of the years ,I have heard they are talking about ground share with either Blackburn or Bolton if the go up ,Hope they do

Sorry for being off line for a while, but had to go to my local to watch it.

Was worth spending a few bob on pints to watch a very entertaining game.

The most valued game in English football, worth £90 million to the winners.

Well done Olly and the Tangerine Team
