Just started a kitchen replacement for a client and today we had a rip out session. This was some of the horror wiring found.
The blue wires are 2.5mm - the ring comes down to a junction box (buried in the wall), spurs off to a single socket to the left then back up to the double wall socket at an odd and strange angle, another spur off to the right, and then back up the wall again at another stupid angle.
The red wires are 6mm for the oven - down the wall to the switch then down nearly to the floor and then off to the right to behind the oven unit.
The house was built in the mid 80's and this horrendous wiring was installed at build time. Were the regs that bad back then?
Which sparky did this??
