hitch

Post by village idiot »

no, not our very helpful metalwork guru but the towing attachment that goes on the back end of a vehicle
some idiot forgot to put the pin back on the combi hitch on the pick-up after dropping off a compressor
the original pin had a reduced part on the main shank & it's replacement hasn't
i now know why the pin was reduced after trying to collect a new compressor (400cfm :thumbright: ), couldn't fit the pin because there was not enough of a gap in the throat of the hitch (between the hitch & pin) ::b
ended up using the van to collect it, lucky it was just round the corner as it was a wee bit over weight for the van at 1900kg

Im not too up on theses hitch things, isnt the different sized rings for different towing weights...i think theres also a NATO hitch, which is quite a bit larger than most standard ring hitches...?
Why isn't the number 11 pronounced onety one?

it's a 3.5T hitch & when in position, the pin is held in place by both R clip & linch pin
same type as this
