67MPH Limiter

Help from anyone please ,
IS there anyway this can be reversed/removed ? i've been told it's just a fuse to be removed , but where ? will it affect the running of the van ?
I need to remove this it's driving me nuts

Like Scruff says, you need to know the make/model of the vehicle because many operate in different ways.

It more than likely is, but one could say that they were taking the car abroad where the limits are different.

I would agree in that the limiter should not be removed whilst in the UK (no matter how annoying it is!).

Most modern limiters are are programmed into the engine control unit and would req a reprogramme to remove

my truck is limited to 90kmh (56mph), it's great fun on the dual carriageway when there's a car doing 50 & it takes feckin miles to get past them

Depends on the van.... gvw of 2000kg and over i think. So small vans are fine.
And the motorways, upto 7.5t can do 70 mph.

The limiter, a lot of companies have them fitted optionally, some vehicles are required to have them. Might be worth checking the VOSA website.

along with the limiter the truck also has an electronic tacho fitted, so you need a card to drive it, which needs downloaded every 4 weeks, & the tacho needs downloaded every 8 weeks
there's probably a tracker fitted too so basically you can do f*ck all without someone knowing about it

The actual maximum speed limit on a dual carriageway is 60mph.

Cars, motorcycles (including car-derived vans up to 2 tonnes maximum laden weight) have a speed limit of 70mph on motorways AND dual carriageways.

Reduces to 60mph for vehicles over 2t mlw but under 7.5t and 50mph over 7.5t
