Annoying little problem - kitchen tiles

Not really sure where this should go as it's tiles I need really. Though maybe someone can suggest something else.

Anyway, our newish fridge fits nicely in the corner of the kitchen but we can't open the door fully because of a radiator cover. I've had a shorter rad put in and want to cut down the rad cover to allow the door to open all the way. The probelm is, that the floor was tiled up to the cover not all the way to the walls. This means that if I cut down the cover I need 1 f**king tile. Can I find one? Can I 'ell.

Now I'm a tight arse and don't want to have to fork out to lay a whole new floor, but this is looking like the only way I can do it.

Any suggestions? I need to do this soon as the 3 year old has sussed out how to open the fridge and it's starting to get a small dent where it whacks the corner of the rad cover.

Hi Richie,

You could try the Tiling forum lol

And you could also set a good example by posting pictures the correct size

I am sure that either Mudster of M3 fitter will know the exact name, age, and everything else about the tiles in question.

Have you tried the most obvious places like tiles R us and b&Q etc?

I know it's tiling but it might not be if I can't get the tiles I need.

I've tried tilesrus and the usual DIY stores.

You'll struggle to get those now I'm afraid, the only way we could source them is to get the name of them and trace the manufacturer.

This is the very reason I insist my customers have a spare box of tiles when I finish every job, you never know what you'll need to change.

I think some nice Marble tiles would look good in your kitchen!

I don't suppose you could try and lift one from under the fridge or a unit (if it is tiled under) You might be able to get the manufacturers name then like Mudser says!

If only it were that simple. They are tiled to just under the units, and I'm not lifting that fridge over that rad cover again!! Good point about saving some spares. If only the previous owners had. Typically, there's loads in the garage for the hallway and downstairs toilet.

Looks like I either have to leave it or get new flooring. Laminate's probably the cheapest

You're right, and I really like tiles, but I can't afford to get the whole lot done at the moment and can't find 1 tile to match

as a temporary measure until you save for some nice new tiles...

How about altering the rad cover, and simply patching the hole in the floor with cement, then paint a similar colour to existing tiles.
