Trend T9 router

Has anybody had any experience with the Trend T9. I know that Trend are a big name in routing but does their kit live up to their reputation?
I have thought about the smaller T5 but it doesn't take a 1/2 inch collet for those occasions when a bigger job comes along. I will only be using it for DIY but I like to buy kit that will handle any job.

if that dosent work its the RYOBI 1/4" 1100WATT PLUNGE ROUTER ERT1150V despite it saying 1/4" it takes 1/2" cutters

I have this router and it did say on the box that it is 1/4 inch, but it does take 1/2 inch. I have only tried it once on a piece of perspex

But I am soon to use it on a new shelving project soon

the good thing about Trend is all the extra gear they do, that fits first time on the units with no mods

Im new to this forum only joined to reply even tho its 6 months outa date on the post...

I have this router and it did say on the box that it is 1/4 inch, but it does take 1/2 inch.

It is a Half Inch router that can take a 1/4" collet. mine was supplied with both.

if it was a 1/4" router its on steroids lol
I belive the T5 is the 1/4" router Trend make.. looks identical but smaller.
If you got the T9 and paid for a T5 you got hell of a result!

Has anybody had any experience with the Trend T9

I have the Trend T9, But i have the 110v version..(incase i went into site work). Ive used it plenty, handles everything Ive done with it so far... Mainly cutting 40mm worktops for edging or doing worktop Joints.
When i was looking for a router along time ago now, i wanted something i wasnt going to have trouble getting parts for and it being able to be used with Jigs sold...

I am pleased with its performance ect and is a nice tool.
I have 2 points to pick complaint with

1) I have the fine adjustment control which i had to fit on mine, its not as simple as it looks to put on, i had trouble with its installation and hadnt done it correctly it wasnt threaded on properely and when i releasd the hold down lock it sprung up and the router came off the plunge rods. i was left holding the body seperate from the base... wasnt happy, got it together again but was real annoyed at the time. Belive thats the only actual isse ive ever had with it...
2) This one may only appy to the 110volt version I dont actually know for sure...
I have no switch lock on mine, for continious running, (dont know if the 240v does either?) so I couldnt invert it for a router table if i wanted, I have never needed to use a router table so this feature for me isnt a problem ( great safety feature to prevent accidents when people are prone to re positioning there hands)

I use a Sheer router at the company I work for, its industrial grade work horse and really heavy so I find any other 1/2" router light weight but the Trend T9 is what I baught and am very happy with.
