I need to braze some 40mm OD, 36mm ID aluminium pipes end-to-end. I had in mind the aluminium brazing kit reviewed by UHM a year or so ago.
UHM's review
Hitch tried it out with a DIY torch and found it not quite hot enough for Al sheet, but good for brazing cans together.
I only have a DIY torch so I need to get something better to do the job. I thought one of these torches might be OK when used with "mixed gas" (70% propane, 30% butane) from Screwfix.
Auto ignition
burner choice.
Would either do? Which would be the better choice for what I want to do?

As the second one has slightly more heat output I would go for that one.
This is a good demo of the easyweld-

Re: Braizing torch
I saw a live demo of it at the Dorset steam fair a few weeks ago, the demo guy was just using a blowtorch, looked like that sort of thing. Looked like about 1.5mm ally sheet , but small bits, about 30x50mm easy to heat up. Did it over a couple of fire bricks too.
When i trie it ona lly sheet it was about 3mm thick i seem to remember, and no fire bricks.
Id go with TIG welding it every time, much easier i found

Re: Braizing torch
I bought the hotter of the two torches. It was only just hot enough, so not possible to make a nice job of it. So I don't think any chuckaway cartridge torch will work properly
I guess I need to pay out more than £30 & get a torch and cylinder. That starts at £100+.
Buy a TIG welder & weld it instead? Hitch, you are joking... Do you really have to go to such lengths to get members for your welding forum?
