Aquapanel + plasterboard

Post by marfulee »

I'm redoing the bathroom, I've ripped out about half of the plasterboard and I'm planning to replace it with aquapanel - how do I blend it in with the existing plasterboard?

Are you going to be tiling over it, or plastering it?

I'm just going to tile it midway up the wall, full height around the shower end of the bath. I've decided that I can aquapanel the bottom half then plasterboard the top half, with a the join under the top row of tiles...

Also, is it just me or is aquapanel a right b**** compared with plasterboard? It's so crumbly and the screws are a right pain to get flush, they also seem to be making mincemeat out of my (admittedly crappy) bits...

Are you using a Phillips head 2 or a Pozi head 2?

AP screws need a Phillips head.

In that case, it's probably better to pilot drill a hole into the Aquapanel and studwork, this should help the screws go in easier.
