new driveway
This is where you can post pictures of extremely poor workmanship, whether it is done by a dodgy tradesman or by an incompetent DIY'er. Instructions on how to post pictures can be found in here.

far be it from me to comment on a job you are happy with. The only concrete used should have been for the border, where needed. All other blocks should be on road stone topped off with sharp sand and then blocks laid on top.
So hopefully you should not have much to worry about.
If i was to comment, I would say that job was absolutely shocking and you ought to have been paid by them, not the other way around.

Re: new driveway
Not being funny but I did better cuts and angles on my round lawn boarder blocks, which was my first attempt at block work.
Did you get someone in to do it or was it done by yourself?

Re: new driveway
It does appear to be a bit 'funny' (iffy) with the same picture appearing in a thread purporting to be from a "Driveways Patios and Paving Specialists" in the link that spartacus posted. Claims to be not his work in the other thread but I am not sure where we stand with Liam claiming he has had the work done recently but the pictures were from August 2010 when we did not have a great deal of frost to break up the concrete, if I remember correctly.Gadget wrote:Perhaps the mods should move this thread to the 'Rogues Gallery'?

Block pave drive next to my mates is just as shocking as was the garden wall pmsl.
It is 18 years since I stopped doing them, but mine are still as level as the day they were done. Should have said flat, rather than level.

As for the inbuilt swimming pools in the background concreted area, import a few sharks from you know ..

Re: new driveway
im not sure what all the fuss is about,
i paid to have my driveway re done, and im happy with the job, i know the colour isnt briliant but its the only colour that they said theycould get, but i cant believe how much it makes the house look different and may have added value. I couldnt recomend the contractors enough. Im hoping to ask them back later in the year to build me an extension to the back garden.
thanks for all your help
