I'm not sure if I understand your issue as its always done this. It always 'scrolls' to the top. Its actually a page refresh to show any new posts. Don't know about the logging out bit....don't think I've had a problem.

I once had my screen automatically scrolling up - believe it or not this was because my mobile phone was sitting on the mouse cable and interfering when it rang!!

Re logging you out, cookies is definitely something to check (as has already been suggested), but also make sure you are using the same domain to log in as to view all the pages (including the www part). I don't know if this site is set up on more than one domain, but I've know problems like this where the domain changed from (for example):
siteforum.shareddomain.com
- to -
forum.site.com
because users logged in on the old domain, and got logged out when they were forwarded to the new address.

Hope that makes sense - feel free to ignore me!

I used to have a problem with athletes foot, I went to the chemist and they gave me some cream, I applied it everyday as suggested, only after I deleted cookies on day 8 was my athletes foot cured, I blame everything on cookies.

I have tried this and I can't get it to log me out :?

Normally I just look for the new post icons in the forum rather than clicking that link. I didn't even know there was a "posts since last visit" link until today

I get looged out of all my forums from time to time, was thinking its the wireless dropping out for a spilt second...

Only happens on my new wireless lapton, not on my old one with a wireless card in the side.

have you got any chat programs that also gets logged out - or don't get logged out off? - helps isolate to internet dropping or limited to forum.

Did you check "remember my details" or some such prompt? I never log in or out of this forum - my PC just remembers by itself - do you have to login each time you boot up the PC?

When you say "part-way through looking" are you actively using the computer at that time? If so there is definately something wrong. If not and you have left the PC idle for some time, could it be going into Standby mode and so the connection is lost?

where is this then?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

ok small update

d i y n o t has a simmilar forematt to uhm and when i post there and return to posts since last visit it just shows the time i logged on 5 mins earlier

so its a big all problem rather than a forum problem

now i down loaded something 2days ago as a required download to read a respected site like the bbc [a media player] it came with a free version of norton so i suspect that may be the problem will remove if it carries on tommorow
