sds plus chisel drill

Post by handyman »

thinking this one appears pretty good value. Want a sds plus with chisel stop, for general use........channeling walls, removing tiles etc etc. not too heavy, and must be a professional make. It will not really be used for drilling anything, just chisel.

Been using the ferm (£40) screwfix cheapy ones for a while, but 2 of them went on fire/spectacularly failed in the past 3 months, so want a reliable model that will last.

any others to recommend? Under £200 would be good, but will spend more for something that will last a lifetime

although this has the same impact energy (i presume this is a measure of the chisel strength? )

would be handy cordless, only £40 more.

We got one of them cordless ones at work, but running from Li-ion batteries. The one you have linked to is only a 2mode though, no chisel facility. A nice light drill.

For heavy chiseling work though, id stick with the corded models.

The other small sds we have is a Milwaukee, i'll give them there due, despite considerable amounts of abuse, they do last well. It seems to have a very effecient hammer system, (3.8j) which certainly seems to power through. On 18mm bits, its probably about 30% faster than our big Makita.

Its a bit over what you wanted to spend, but there is a freebie at the moment, and i deffinatly think its worth it if you want something to last. :thumbright:

A week in the north of England is like a lifetime :cb

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
