Bosch IXO

Post by Cannyfixit »

Not sure how to word this as i have read some of you have alraeady bought the above
I was in B&Q today and the IXO 3.6 volt was on offer at £34.98 with a free angle attachment,so because i like a bargain i came home and did a search to try and find it cheaper and came across this

Bosch IXO 3.6V Cordless Screwdriver £33.19
then i found this
Bosch 7.2V Cordless Screwdriver PSR 200 LI £47.45

reading the Bosch UK web site
the latter is the latest model which leads me to believe the IXO is being discounted to get rid of old stock,
so which one would you guys go for

If you read thru' this section you will see several comments about the Bosch and the Ryobi - I think the jury is still out on this altho' I more prefer the Ryobi :thumbright:

The 7.2V looks exactly the same size as the 3.6V so t would seem to be a direct replacement :-) and it has the "Ikea bit"

Having said that, these tool manufacturers do seem to have a lot of overlapping ranges for no apparent reason other then confuse their potential customers

Which one to go for   Personally, I like the look of the right-angle adapter - could be very useful (on other hand, could never get used! ), the 7.2V will be around longer then 3.6V but does that matter once you bought it? - tools under £100 nowadays are throwaway if they fail out of warrantly
The Ryobi is a decent brand at a lower price. .....

IMO, I think I would plumb for Ryobi still unless I had a job lined up where I could see the right-angle adaper being used (which means the Bosch 7.2V also gets the boot as it doesn't have the adapter anyway).
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
