Business Phone Line

Post by kintangoman »

Just wanted to find out if anyone knows of the ''best'' provider of a SECOND Phone Line that can be used for business?

I do not want the kids answering the phone when a customer calls?

I have checked on the net and came up with Vonage offering a VoIP kind of service for £3.99-£9.99pm.
Has anyone on here used them? If so, are the service they offer reliable

I have heard them advertise on the radio.

As for quality of service, I would suggest that as its VOIP then it will have a lot to do with your internet connection, if that goes down a lot then so will your phone line.

What about buying one of them 07000 numbers? you can divert it to anywhere, i.e another mobile phone.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

We have two incoming lines and a fax line (fax goes to email) with this firm:-

Very reliable and inexpensive.

Ours is £15 a month for two numbers/three lines and calls are inexpensive.

I should have also said, that I only pay £2/month because I wanted my own number.

If you have one of their 0560 numbers, it is free.

Will check that out (I prefer to have my own number, so £2 sounds generous).

I moved from TalkTalk to O2 in March. Had to pay TalkTalk £120 cancellation fee, then pay O2 £60 for some kind of ''fee'' they said they have to pay TalkTalk :angryfire: Looking back now, I think the £60 was a SCAM???
I had no idea I will have to pay a cancellation fee (I assumed the £60 was for that?) to TalkTalk. Got a shock when they sent me my final bill. If only I had asked the right questions

Sorry M8, but I'm not going to be buying any type of jammer :angryfire:

Will be getting Voipfone or similar when my new contract with O2 (now transferred to Sky?) expires in say 6 months.

What are Skype offering these days? It's robust, good infrastructure and can be used a laptop and variety of mobiles platforms.

http://www.skype.com/en/business/

Also, depending on the router you have on your home broadband, it may offer a QoS facility - Quality of Service. This means that it has the ability to prioritise the traffic coming too and from your house.

What does that mean? Well, if you have a 3 megabit broadband and kids, the chances are they are going to be steaming music, gaming and all sorts while you are working. If they use your allotted bandwidth, calls can drop out and become choppy. A few clicks of a mouse and the router will prioritise the VOIP traffic above their games/downloads and reserves a slice of the connection while it's in use. All other times, the kids can do what they want.

Very worthwhile.

Free caller ID too, so you can use your MOBILE number to show up when you call people from the line - if you like. Also free answerphone if you want it.

A good feature of my Voipfone, maybe other voip providers do it as well, is that any voicemails are sent as soundfiles via email, so you don't have to pick up your 'landline', or wait until you get home to hear them.
